How To Make The Day Memorable?

Memorable Day

Well this is not a tutorial instead a question that I want to ask you on the day of completion of 2 years of service of Religion2God. Religion2God aims to lead to the Highest (the God) which is symbolized by the ladder in its logo.

Recently someone asked me that how can I claim that He is the Highest. Actually, it is not my sole claim that He is the Highest but also the conclusion of the experiences of renowned saints of past. Apart from this highly valued scriptures also declare the same. Above all the God Himself explains to us the same out of affection.

Now another question that may emerge in your mind is that how can you believe on a book. I agree that your doubt is reasonable if I ask you to believe on all the books that are published every day but this is not about ordinary literary works but about well acclaimed standard texts.

In every branch of science there are some standard books that you need to follow for better understanding. You need to take those texts as true because they are verified observations of many scholars. For example in Chemical Engineering, you need to refer a book called Perry’s Handbook for Chemical Engineers whose data is needed for solving various design problems. You can’t question it.

Scriptures are also similar compilation of observation of great saints of ancient times. You can’t question them as well. Statements from such texts are a kind of proof. We call it reference. In Hindi it is known as Shabda Pramaan (Proof by Texts).

So, I invite your ideas that go parallel with the motto of Religion2God, leading to the Highest. Tell me what do you want Religion2God to do that you think can really help you and others to understand spirituality much better.

Another issue that I wanted to discuss is the credibility of speech. These days’ people have started giving a lot of unmindful, illogical and sometimes even shameful statements. It may appear funny to them but the vibrations that are created with such acts never die and affect adversely.

I appeal all of you that just try to speak what is right to your knowledge and understanding. It’s ok if you crack jokes but they should have their limit as well. It just shows the lack of rational thinking approach of a person when he talks useless, illogical and irrelevant things.

Your words are the parameters to measure your credibility, your trustworthiness. If you keep on talking futile, people start taking your words lightly and you will lose your ability to win attention of others in no time. Try to be as much close to logic and reality as much as possible.

In regard of speech, there is a story that my teacher Mr. Deepak Auddy used to tell us. There is an island where people are almost unaware of all the technological advancements that we use in our daily life. When they need firewood, they just gather near a big tree and start abusing it. By the evening the tree dies and they get the firewood. The story depicts the power of speech. So, it is very important to be cautious of what we speak.

Religion2God presents to you its new logo today. Please tell us your comments about its new logo.

Well that’s all for today. Do share your views and suggestions. I am eagerly waiting to hear from you. Thanks a lot. Have a good time.

How to Investigate Your Spiritual Essence?

Investigate Spiritual Essence

Investigating our spiritual essence is the most important work we have because with the understanding of our spiritual nature we are no more bullied by the glamour of the world. The mind comes totally under our control and we become able to do whatever is required all in proper fashion.

Here I present before you few activities that can help you discover your spiritual reality. If you don’t eat, you will never know its taste. So, it’s important to practice them in order to know how they work. Even if you don’t believe that there is anything called spiritual, just give these things a sincere try for few months and I am damn sure you will be changed.

OK here we go.
  1. Meditate: Meditation is not that tough for beginners as it is generally talked about. Just sit in a quiet and clean place in the most comfortable posture keeping your backbone straight and eyes gently closed. That’s it. Practice this thrice a day for at least 10 minutes during each sitting.
  2. Be Peaceful: Maintaining peace of mind is just the matter of keeping silent in the beginning. Just stop useless talk and develop a habit of listening carefully to things. This will help you expand your awareness. Just keep smiling.
  3. Follow 10 Rules: See the image in this post. Print this and get it stuck on your bedrooms wall. Try to follow them as far as possible.
  4. Read Biography of Spiritual Giants: Life of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, Raman Maharishi and other such people really help a lot to keep you going and help you find a perfect ideal for your life.
  5. Manage Work and Time: Have a daily plan of what to do and when to do. This helps you keep going smoothly without being swayed up by anything.
  6. Discuss: Discuss with others what you discover and what you want to know from them. Never just keep it up to yourself. If the person knows you will learn and if he doesn't then he will learn.

I think this much is enough for now. Please feel free to ask any thing you want to get clarified about the post or any other thing that you think I shall be able to help with. I will be obliged to answer you comments.

I hope you will come back after few months as well to this post and share with us the wonderful story of your spiritual journey. I am dying to hear the same from you.

Till then, thanks for reading. I am waiting for your comments. Good luck.

What Exists And What Not?

Reality of Existence

Existence has been a very widely discussed topic from times immemorial. It is because, our understanding of what exists and what not helps us to understand that what our actions and efforts should be directed towards. If we long for something that never actually existed, we are sure to land among despair. Only one whose efforts are oriented towards the true existence is worthy of achieving peace and happiness.

A child starts crying loud if it’s lovely necklace, which it has got from somewhere and now uses it for its childish game, gets separated into beads. It assumes the necklace as an independent existence. It doesn't know that those small beads are the one that combine to make up its lovely toy. Then its parent again fixes it and the child get surprised and happy again to get back its cradle. The parent doesn't get worried about breaking of the thread, because he sees those beads as the core of the existence of the necklace.

The notion is that the parent sees beads as the core of the existence of the necklace and remains happier whereas the child takes the necklace as an independent existence and gets entangled in sorrow now and then. Similarly, the parent also finds him helpless if beads break into pieces but the manufacturer recycles tons of such broken beads daily. So, the parent feels helpless because he takes those beads as individual existence but the manufacturer understands the compound of it as the core of its existence.

So, what can be seen in the above example is that as you start seeing finer forms of existence you have a more permanent form of existence to cling to. This is how one can find his way to absolute existence. In spiritual world, only things with absolute existence are treated as true and it is tried to focus all efforts towards that absolute existence.

The modern science defines mass and energy as two basic forms of existence, which can be considered one as they are inter-convertible. This is not different from spiritual concept of existence. Spiritually, the Energy is the core of existence. But the forms of energy that modern science has discovered yet are very lower forms of the Energy of which spiritualists talk. The Energy manifests matter or mass with an infinitesimally small part of it and then with another infinitesimally small part of energy mingles with the newly formed mass to bring forth the manifold universe.

So, everything is just the manifestation of that Energy. The Energy keeps on changing its forms and this makes everything else temporary and the Energy itself is only permanent. This is the reason why it is also said that the Energy only exists and everything else is transitory like a dream and is unreal.

The Energy of which is being discussed is an uninterrupted infinite eternal field of consciousness. All forms of energy and matter that are perceptible to physical senses are lower forms of its manifestation or you can say very gross forms. The Finer and Absolute form of it is what is termed as the God or the Self.

As per modern science, some quarks and strings make up atoms that combine to make up molecules. Those molecules combine to form cells and then those cells in turn combine to form tissues and so on and on. If one investigates more and tries to find the forms finer than those quarks and strings, it is possible that after discovery of another dozens of finer forms the modern science would finally understand what the finest form of existence is.

Finally let me tell you the secret of being happy, cling to that very finest form of existence as it alone is permanent and the core of all existences.

Path To Success

Path to Success

To achieve anything one has to devote him/her self completely to that work. Without devotion nothing can be achieved. In case of spirituality, to experience the Lord, one has to continuously think of Him, to experience bliss; one has to be continuously happy. To experience nothingness, one has to be thoughtless continuously. To experience peace, one has to be calm always. Only a short period of meditation cannot help without development of the habit of maintenance of the meditative mood always.

Quest Part 4

Q31: Why do we get involved in wrong activities even after knowing that it should be avoided? What does force us to do so?

A31: It is the temptation due to ignorance. Most of the ill things look charming at first and their ill effects are observed later. Similarly, good things appear dull at first and their benefits appear after a period.

Q32: How are impressions harmful to us?

A32: We mostly work according to our impressions alone. We, the real Self, do not play any active role in it. These impressions can be understood as a wall which doesn't allow soul to establish connection with the intellect. In case we become free of impressions, our intellect will be illuminated by the knowledge of soul.

Q33: How can one get rid of impressions and establish connection between soul and intellect?

A33: When we perform our assigned work, and follow the path of righteousness to perform our duties alone, no more impressions are created and we gradually become free from them.

Q34: It is very hard to meditate. Mind does not become steady even on repeated attempts.

A34: The mind automatically enters into the state of meditation on regular practice. You don't need to do that forcefully. Just give it time.

Q35: The whole world is destructible. Even the body is destructible. Then where does the life element exist?

A35: The real life is in the form of the soul. Even the soul is all pervasive. It is indestructible.

Q36: Why has understanding of self-realization become this hard today?

A36: It has become a bit tougher today due to increased distractions and depleted education systems.

Q37: Is righteousness endangered?

A37: Righteousness is never endangered as the Lord Himself beholds it.

Q38: What are the differences between lust and love?

A38: Both are entirely different. Lust arises out of ignorance where as love arises out of pure knowledge. Lust is dependent on the attributes of an object where is love is independent. Lust is temporary while love is eternal.

Q39: How to distinguish between lust and love?

A39: If you are derived towards something to fulfill your own selfish motive, it is lust. And if you, are able to serve effortless without any selfish motive, it is love.

Q40: What is spirituality?

A40: Spirituality is the science of spirit.

Quest Part 3

Q21: Does the God exist everywhere?

A21: Yes.

Q22: How can we say this? To assume and to be are two different things. People may believe but how is this possible?

A22: We haven't created anything in this world completely. Creation must contain some part of the creator. Therefore we can say that air, water, fire, land, sky or anything created using these bears the mark of God.

Q23: Can a person see beyond time frames?

A23: Yes, the God knows everything. And when somebody unifies himself with the God, he too gains the ability to see beyond time frames.

Q24: What is the form of God?

A24: In whatever form you want to see.

Q25: It is said that the God is in you. Don't search Him outside. What does this statement mean? Introspection helps to understand your true self, to understand your immense potential. But the God is in me. It's a bit confusing!

A25: The life element inside you, works due to the presence of God Himself. Meditate. Recognise your true identity. You are not this body. This body is just your instrument. You are a Soul, the master of mind, intellect and body. You will be able to experience this truth through contemplation and will be able to be free from ignorance.

Q26: If it's so, then how can we (part of the God) be wrong? Why isn't the mind free of evil? Why does it run behind material world?

A26: We are pure. Tendencies of mind are outcomes of effects of our own actions. Whatever you do, is not done with Self-consciousness or Self-intuition. But, they are forced upon you by impression on your mind. These impressions are effects of our actions.

Q27: What is the need of controlling the mind?

A27: If you don't control your mind, it will continue to create impressions and you will never be able to understand your true identity.

Q28: Why doesn't the God help us in controlling our minds?

A28: Since, you yourself have created this state. You alone will have to try to get out of it.

Q29: What do you mean by impressions? How is the mind controlled by these impressions?

A29: When you do something, it leaves its experiences as impressions on you. Then next time, on proper situation, these impressions provoke you to repeat that activity. In this way, these impressions become grosser and ultimately becomes your habit.

Q30: Why does our will power weaken instead of being strong in such situations? What controls our will power?

A30: The level of impressions that we bear controls our will power. Lesser the grossness of impressions on your mind, stronger is you will power.

Quest Part 2

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions

Q11: What is His source? Everything in this planet or in this universe has a reason. There must be one for God too.

A11: God is the Source of all sources. There is no source of Him. Everything needs a firm base to exist. God serves as the foundation of the whole cosmos. God is Perfect. He holds all the attributes of this world, yet He is very different from everything. Therefore it is not necessary that there should be a source of Him. He emerges from Himself and dissolves back into His own Self.

Q12: Even if one doesn't believe on the God, he does know that the God symbolizes truth and goodness. What is the symbol of evil?

A12: Ignorance symbolizes evil.

Q13: Where does evil take us to?

A13: Evil takes us to destruction.

Q14: What is the goal of life? There must be one.

A14: Aim of life is purification.

Q15: I can't understand your words, as brain needs reasons to accept. I do not understand the meaning of God.

A15: Spirituality is not understood by brain but by experiences. The God is the most mysterious truth of this world. It even requires a whole life commitment to reveal this mystery.

Q16: What kind of experiences?

A16: Initially experiences remain very subtle, they grow deeper with passing time and increasing sensitivity.

Q17: If the God is that good, He should have made a good place and good living beings. Where has evil crept in from?

A17: The God didn't make anything wrong. Evil is within us. He has also provided everything that we need for purification.

Q18: What kind of activities can take us nearer to the God?

A18: Assigned activities. Means following duties and righteousness is the way to the God.

Q19: What is the true source of the knowledge of righteousness?

A19: Sacred scriptures and meditation.

Q20: If a person wants to reach the God, if he has left ill activities and now follows righteousness. Does he hold the right to God-realization?

A20: Yes, one needs to be free from effects of actions to reach God.

Quest Part 1

Quest is the series of posts that has been derived from discussions with my friends through facebook chat. They have asked a wide range of questions comprising different aspects of spirituality. I decided to post them on the blog for public reference as I expect these questions to be very common to every spiritual aspirant. I hope you will be greatly benefited from this series of posts. I thank my dear friends for putting his questions and understanding innocently before me.

Frequently Asked Question And Their Answers
Frequently Asked Question And Their Answers

Q1: Spirituality is a fathomless ocean. Has anybody ever reached its zenith?

A1: Spirituality ends in God-realization. Many have reached this state in past.

Q2: What is the importance of spirituality in life?

A2: It is hard to explain, what the importance of this topic is. But, I can say that after encountering with it, I felt it as the most important thing to know. This is complete knowledge. Everything is in it. Everything is from it.

Q3: Can we see God by exactly following them (persons who have realized God in past)?

A3: Of course, but following doesn't mean trying to replicate them but trying to follow the path they have shown us through their teachings.

Q4: I have two concepts of the creation. One says that the whole cosmos is generated by Brahma. But, according to science it is different.

A4: Both are correct. The only mistake science makes is that it considers its knowledge as complete in spite of existence of numerous mysteries that are unexplained by science.

Q5: Even if I assume that the world was created by Brahma, isn't it wrong to credit a Hindu god for the creation of the whole universe? Other religions also have their gods.

A5: There is nothing like Hindu god or Muslim god or anything such. The God is One. Only names differ. Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Guru Nanak, Mahavira, Jesus all are same.

Q6: All the names written above are of humans. Then why are they regarded as God?

A6: These great beings have acquired this state by their hard labour. When someone reaches the state of God-realization, he becomes almost equivalent to the God and only the limitations of physical body remains with them.

Q7: What is the birth cycle?

A7: Death after birth followed by another birth forms a continuous cycle, known as the cycle of birth and death.

Q8: Do effects of actions follow in the same cycle or can even be carried over to next?

A8: Both are possible.

Q9: Is it necessary that the person will suffer due to his wrong deeds? If the man changes himself then do the effects of ill activities get nullified?

A9: Effects of actions do follow. This is like an arrow shot from a bow that can't be stopped. Good and bad actions do not nullify each other's effects. Both are awarded separately.

Q10: Why does God exist?

A10: God is the Reason of all reasons. There is no reason for his existence. He exists therefore everything else exist. He exists to help us exist.

My sister always says that I lack emotions. But, do you think it is possible? Even animals do not lack it. They show love, affection and care towards their offspring. They show a kind of unity at difficult times. Your pet always remains loyal to you once it decides to be so.

So, what is it that allows her to say so? It is the outcome of two things. First is the control over my emotions that I have built in last few years and the second is lack of her observational power. One can easily understand the emotional status of a person by noticing his/her decisions and daily minute activities. But everybody cannot bear same level of alertness and observational and concluding abilities. So, I shall not write about that here but I would like to talk about emotional control.

It is not always required to climb high onto the cliff of a mountain to announce what you think. One must develop a good control over his/her emotions in order to act wisely in different situations as emotions can both be a reason of your success as well as of your failure.

Emotions are a very big domain for discussion here. But I shall try to discuss some key points about them in my subsequent writings. Here also I would like to present some points that I think are helpful for building emotional control.

First thing is what you say. What you say is the first step of sharing what we want and think with others. One must be very careful about it. Never say anything of promise anything that you yourself are not sure about. This can build a kind of expectation and a basis of your evaluation.

Second thing is the patience. Have patience and wait for the right time to come for the expression of your emotions. Anything ahead of time or beyond the deadline is useless and even harmful.

Third thing is the expectations. Limit your expectations from those, with whom you have strong emotional attachments. This will allow you to appreciate that they too have their own free will and their own right to make decisions.

And the final thing is the right way to express your emotions. Also, when you do not express what you feel, you are almost sitting in a shell. Expressions should be very subtle in the beginning and then it should become vivid gradually only after getting favorable response on your subtler indications.

This was mostly about the expression of what you feel. But if you notice keenly, the third point is the most important one. It will provide you the spiritual strength to handle your emotions. Apart from this meditative practices also enable them to act in the right manner at difficult situations.

Just be in the present and understand that you are not everything yet. Others also have their own rights and mindsets. You can just be there to show what you are and to hear what you are looked upon as.

And the last line with which I would like to wrap up is that pure emotions travel. Just like your parents love you and you can hardly keep yourself away from loving them. This is the effect of pure emotion. If your feelings are really untainted by your selfish motives, you never have to face an emotional breakdown.

Meditation, A to Z Again

Meditation A to Z

Out of numerous spiritual practices namely celibacy, renunciation etc., meditation due to its simplicity and health related benefits, has always been a topic of discussion even among non-spiritualists. Let’s dive into the depths of it with a rational approach for its significance and its benefits.

Meditation as generally explained in dictionaries means brooding and deep thinking. But meditation is completely different from it. Instead of continuous thinking of a certain subject, meditation comprises of observing the subject only. Meditation is a continued state of concentration of mental rays on a particular subject. So, for proper meditation one must develop enough and prolonged concentration. But this doesn’t mean that those who do not have good concentration cannot attempt meditation. They too can meditate by continued practice. Their primary effort for meditation helps them to develop good concentration which acts as the foundation for meditation.

Meditation helps us to expand our awareness and calm our mind. Health related benefits of meditation are no miracle today. It is said that stress is the main cause of all ailments and meditation is no doubt the best stress buster available with us. Meditation not only helps one to develop physically and mentally but also helps one to grow emotionally and ethically. Along with stress reduction, which enables you to put most of you in your work, it also develops a sense of inner satisfaction in you which frees you from greed, lust and anger. Apart from this meditation is having is considered the king of all spiritual practices because it help you to grow spiritually. It is the only means to allow your real being, your soul to manifest itself as the master of your body and mind.

There are many techniques of meditation and people mostly are found confused with the technique of meditation they should follow. Actually, just like religions, which have the same ground of existence, all meditation techniques are also constructed on a common principle foundation. So, it doesn’t matter which approved meditation technique you follow, all of them lead to same experiences and effects.

If you are yet wondering, here is the world’s simplest and most effective method for you to follow. Choose a calm and solitary place. Sit in any posture with which you are comfortable for longer periods. Hold you trunk and backbone straight as if your head is suspended by some wire tied on the top of your skull. Allow your hands to rest in your lap or on your knees. Close your eyes gently. Take a few slow deep breaths and relax your body completely. Try to observe the movement of your breath. Gently bring your attention back on the breath if your mind runs into some other thought. Continue with this as long as you can. Then slowly move your attention to different parts of your body and try to feel through them. Open your eyes gently and leave the seat after some time when you feel ready.

Breath is the main subject which connects us with the innermost being within us. Also, properly regulated breathing habit is the key of health. So, all meditation techniques have deep relation with breath. And the above technique of meditation directly helps one to draw all great benefits out of it.

At last I would like to talk about mysterious and unbelievable effects of meditation. I am bound to talk about it because this has got more than enough popularity today. It is possible to develop miraculous powers and super-normal abilities through meditation as meditation helps you to bridge your individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. But, this is very rare and requires unspeakable devotion and continuity in meditation, just like physical exercises help you to develop your muscles but making it comparable to WWE players require day and night labor.

But, as few minutes of physical exercise is enough to maintain health similarly at least minimum of ten minutes of meditation twice or thrice a day is enough to maintain inner peace. And there is no upper limit. Meditation has no side effect and its benefits are fathomless. More you meditate more you gain.

Finally, if you require anything else to know about meditation and other spiritual practices please drop a comment. If you meditate, please share your experiences in the comment and inspire new learners to advance on this path. Also I am glad to know your view about the blog and other spiritual topics. So, you have all the reasons to drop a comment, about almost anything you want to say.
